Team A is awarded the ball for a throw-in in the backcourt. Inadvertently Team B is awarded the ball. After the throw-in has been completed and B-1 has taken several dribbles, the error is discovered.
Handle the situation.
Previously it would have been too late to fix this mistake by the officials. However, with the rule change last season, it is now possible to correct this mistake since the ball has not become dead nor has team control ended. Team A should be awarded the ball at the original throw-in spot. If the officials have definite knowledge, the clock should be reset to the time on the clock when the original throw-in took place.
