A-5 attempts to dunk the ball into the basket. The ball rattles the ring and bounces up on the backboard. A-5 grabs the ring momentarily to steady himself and the ball passes through the basket while A-5 has his hands on the ring.
Handle the situation.
While A-5 may grab the ring momentarily while dunking the ball, once the attempted dunk ended, A-5 no longer has this exception to the basket interference rule at his disposal. A-5’s actions constitute basket interference. No goal can be scored. The ball will be awarded to Team B on the end line nearest the violation for a designated spot throw-in.
