The play described below is provided for your review and discussion. The rulings given are based on NFHS rules. NCAA rulings may be different.

While A-1’s free throw is in the air, A-5 jumps up and grabs the ring at the other end of the court.  The ball passes through the basket.

Handle the situation.


A-5 is charged with a technical foul for grabbing the ring.  Since the free throw was in the air, the ball remains live until the free throw ends.  In this case, the point is counted.  

Team B will be awarded two free throws and a designated spot throw-in at the division line opposite the table.
