Play of the Day 413 (2023-24)

The play described below is provided for your review and discussion. The rulings given are based on NFHS rules. NCAA rulings may be different.

Both teams are in the bonus.  A-5 is fouled by B-5 while rebounding a missed try.  After the whistle has sounded, B-5 intentionally hits A-5 in the face with his elbow.

Handle the situation.

B-5 will be charged with two fouls.  The rebounding foul will result in two free throws for A-5.  The intentional contact to the face is a technical foul since it occurred while the ball was dead.  This contact is considered flagrant since it was above the shoulders and was not the result of a basketball play.  B-5 will be ejected to the bench.  Any member of Team A will attempt two free throws and Team A will receive the ball for a designated spot throw-in from the division line opposite the table.
