The play described below is provided for your review and discussion. The rulings given are based on NFHS rules. NCAA rulings may be different.

A-1 is fouled and is entitled to two free throws.  At this point it is noticed that A-1 has earrings in which will take some time to remove.  A-6 substitutes for A-1 to attempt the free throws.  After the last free throw is successful, A-1 is ready to re-enter the game.

Handle the situation.


A-1 may not re-enter at this time since the clock has not yet started properly after A-1’s replacement.  A-1 will have to wait until the next opportunity to substitute after the clock starts.
