A-1 is fouled in the act of shooting a three-point attempt. The ball hits the ring and bounces up onto the backboard. A-5 jumps and grabs the ring to prevent injury. The ball passes through the basket while A-5 has his hands on the ring.
Handle the situation.
Since A-5 had his hands on the ring while the ball was passing through the basket, by rule this is offensive basket interference. No goal can be scored. However, A-1 was fouled in the act of shooting. Since the try was not successful due to the basket interference, A-1 is awarded three free throws. Play will proceed as after any normal free throw situation.
