The play described below is provided for your review and discussion. The rulings given are based on NFHS rules. NCAA rulings may be different.

A-5 drives to the basket and is fouled.  A-5 falls to the floor and is slow to get up.  The coach and trainer rush onto the floor but A-5 is able to get up on his own.  Since the coach and trainer came onto the floor, A-6 replaces A-5 and attempts the free throws.  After the successful free throw on the last attempt, A-5 is waiting at the table to re-enter the game.

Handle the situation.


Since A-5 was substituted for, A-5 must remain out of the game until at least one tick has gone off the clock.  A-5 cannot return to the game at this point.
