The play described below is provided for your review and discussion. The rulings given are based on NFHS rules. NCAA rulings may be different.

A-2 drives to the basket for a layup and is fouled in the act of shooting.  The ball is on the ring when A-5 tips the ball into the basket.

Handle the situation.


A-5’s action constitutes offensive basket interference.  No goal can be scored.  However, A-2 was fouled in the act of shooting so A-2 will be awarded two free throws.  Play will resume off the make or miss of the final free throw.

    Very Interesting Play. Correct, Offensive Basket Interference, No Score, report the foul and
    shoot two shots. This has to be administered correctly.
