The play described below is provided for your review and discussion. The rulings given are based on NFHS rules. NCAA rulings may be different.
During the 2nd quarter, Team A’s assistant coach receives a technical foul. During the third quarter, Team A’s head coach receives a direct technical foul for unsporting conduct.
Handle the situation.
Despite the fact that the Team A head coach has received two technical fouls (one direct and one indirect), the head coach is not disqualified. If both technical fouls were direct, then the head coach would be disqualified. However, since one of the technical fouls is indirect, he may remain in the game. Any additional technical foul (direct or indirect) will result in the coach’s disqualification.

And the head coach loses his right to stand in the team box and must remain seated for the duration of the game.
And the head coach loses their box after the direct technical foul
Very Good Play. Yes, we as Officials, need to be aware of this and administer properly.
Thanks!
