The play described below is provided for your review and discussion. The rulings given are based on NFHS rules. NCAA rulings may be different.
Both teams are in the bonus. After a free throw by A-1 has been released, A-2 fouls B-2 along the lane. The ball passes through the basket.
Handle the situation.
The goal is counted since once the ball is released, the only foul that could cancel the attempt would be a player control foul. There is no team control since team control ended once the free throw was released. Since this is a common foul, B-2 will be awarded a bonus free throw situation. If the free throw was the first of a bonus situation, the lane will be cleared for the second attempt. After that, the free throw(s) will be awarded to B-2. Play will resume after those free throw(s) as after any free throws for a common foul.

On play 324, since this is the 1st shot of the bonus wouldn’t the lane be cleared for the 2 nd shot?
Yes.
Very Interesting Play. B-2 would only shoot the Foul Shots, if Team B was in the Bonus, correct.
Thanks!
