A1 is attempting to make a throw-in from the end line in frontcourt. A1 attempts to pass the ball to A2 near the top of the key. The ball deflects off A2’s hand and goes into the backcourt. The ball is recovered by A3.
Handle the situation.
This is a legal play. Since this is a throw-in, there is no team control (other than for foul purposes) until player control is established inbounds. Since player control was only obtained when A3 recovered the ball in backcourt, there cannot be a backcourt violation.
