A1 is on a breakaway when A1 goes up for a layup and releases the try. The ball hits the backboard and is still on its way up, is outside the imaginary cylinder when B5 traps the ball against the backboard.
Handle the situation.
This is a legal play in high school. In order to have basket interference, the ball must be inside the imaginary cylinder above the ring or on the ring. In order to have goaltending, the try must be on its downward flight. It was still going up.
