Play of the Day #233 (2021-22)

The play described below is provided for your review and discussion. The rulings given are based on NFHS rules. NCAA rulings may be different.

A2 has the ball for a throw-in.  In attempting to pass the ball inbounds, A2 throws a bounce pass that hits the boundary line and is then caught by A1.

Handle the situation.

By rule, A2 is required to release the ball on a pass directly into the court.  Since the ball hit the boundary line, this requirement was not met.  A throw-in violation has occurred.  The ball should be awarded to Team B at the spot of the original throw-in.

Very Good Play. This Play should be correctly administered, if we have the proper angle
to see and are not too close to the out-of-bounds Player. Thanks.
