Play of the Day #213 (2021-22)

The play described below is provided for your review and discussion. The rulings given are based on NFHS rules. NCAA rulings may be different.

A1 attempts a free throw and is successful.  After the ball has passed through the basket, B5, who has hooked A5, throws A5 to the floor.

Handle the situation.

B5 should be charged with an intentional foul.  Since the foul occurred after ball had passed through the basket, the ball is dead.  This makes the foul a technical foul.  Any member of Team A will be awarded two free throws and Team A will be awarded the ball for a throw-in at the division line opposite the table.

Very Interesting Play. Correct and we, as Officials, need to know that this is an
Intentional Technical Foul because of the ball being dead. Thanks.
