A-1 attempts a jump shot that rebounds toward the end line. A-5 jumps, catches the rebound and, as A-5 is headed out of bounds, throws the ball toward the division line. The ball lands in backcourt where it is recovered by A-1 before anyone else touches the ball.
Handle the situation.
This is a backcourt violation. Although A-5 caught the rebound in the air and then released a pass, A-5 had frontcourt status. This gave the ball frontcourt status. Since there was team control in the frontcourt and Team A was the last to touch the ball in frontcourt, A-1 violated when he was the first to touch the ball in backcourt.
