The play described below is provided for your review and discussion. The rulings given are based on NFHS rules. NCAA rulings may be different.
During a live ball, B-1 intentionally pushes A-1 out of bounds. After the whistle has sounded for the intentional foul, A-1 shoves B-1.
Handle the situation.
This is NOT a double foul. The first foul by B-1 is an intentional personal foul. The second foul is a technical foul for intentional contact during a dead ball. Neither act is considered fighting since there was no attempt to strike, punch or kick using fists, hands, legs or feet. The fouls do not offset each other. Because of B-1’s foul, A-1 will be awarded two free throws. This will be followed by two free throws by any member of Team B for A-1’s foul. The ball will be awarded to Team B at the division line opposite the table since A-1’s foul was the last foul.
