Play of the Day #141 (2020-21)

The play described below is provided for your review and discussion. The rulings given are based on NFHS rules. NCAA rulings may be different.

While A-1 is dribbling the ball, B-1 bats the ball away.  As A-1 and B-1 are chasing the ball, the official rules a double foul against A-1 and B-1.

Handle the situation

A-1 and B-1 both receive a personal foul and the team foul totals are increased for both teams by one.  This is a point of interruption play.  Although the ball was loose, no try was involved so team control still remained with Team A.  Since team control remained with Team A, the ball is awarded to Team A from the spot nearest to where the ball was when the double foul occurred.
