While A-1 is dribbling the ball in the mid-court area, B-5 and A-5 are whistled for a double foul due to rough play in the low post area. B-5’s foul is Team B’s 7th team foul of the half. A-5’s foul is Team A’s 4th foul of the half.
Handle the situation.
If B-5’s foul was a common foul, A-5 would be awarded a bonus free throw situation. However, a double foul is not a common foul. A double foul has its own penalty. This involves charging each offender with a foul and increasing the team foul count by one for each team. Play is resumed at the point of interruption. In this case, since Team A had control of the ball, the throw-in will be awarded to Team A at the point nearest to where the ball was when the double foul occurred.
