Play of the Day #131 (2020-21)

The play described below is provided for your review and discussion. The rulings given are based on NFHS rules. NCAA rulings may be different.

Both teams are in the bonus.  Time is winding down in the last quarter.  A-1 launches an unsuccessful try and B-5 is fouled by A-5 during rebounding action.  Clearly after the whistle has sounded, the horn sounds.

Handle the situation.

The Referee will need to put time back on the clock.  The Referee may confer with his partners on the floor as well as the official timer and the official scorer to make the determination of how much time to put back on the clock.  Once the clock issue is resolved, B-5 will be awarded a bonus free throw situation with players lined up along the lane.
