A-5 jumps to dunk the ball. The ball hits the front of the ring and squirts up onto the backboard. A-5, who is in a crowd, momentarily grasps the ring. While his hands are on the ring, the ball passes through the goal.
Handle the situation.
A-5 is guilty of basket interference. While a player is permitted to dunk the ball, that attempt to do so ended when the ball squirted up onto the backboard. When the ball passed through the goal while A-5 was holding the ring, basket interference occurred.
No goal is scored. The ball is awarded to Team B for a designated spot throw-in on the end line.
