The play described below is provided for your review and discussion. The rulings given are based on NFHS rules. NCAA rulings may be different.

At the end of the second quarter, A-1 goes airborne and launches a last second try.  While the try is in flight, the horn sounds.  After the horn sounds but while the try is in flight, B-1 fouls A-1 before A-1 returns to the floor by moving under A-1 after A-1 left the floor.  Both players wind up on the floor.  The try is unsuccessful.

Handle the situation.

Although the horn has sounded, the second quarter is not over since there is a try in flight.  The ball is still live.  A foul should be ruled on B-1.  A-1 should be awarded two free throws with no players lined up along the lane.  When all free throws have been completed, the quarter will be over.
