Neither team is in the bonus.  A1 is at the free throw line with the ball at his disposal to attempt a free throw.  Before A-1 begins his act of shooting, B1 pushes A2 into the lane.  The Lead rules a violation on A2 for stepping into the lane.  The Center rules a foul on B1 for pushing A2 into the lane.  The officials huddle and decide to clear the lane, penalize the foul and do not penalize the violation.  A1 shoots the free throw with no players along the lane and Team A is awarded the ball for a designated spot throw-in on the endline. Were the officials correct?

The play described below is provided for your review and discussion. The rulings given are based on NFHS rules. NCAA rulings may be different.

A-1 attempts a three point try.  While the ball is in the air, A-5 and B-5 are whistled for a double foul near the basket as they try to position themselves for a rebound.  The try hits the back of the ring and bounces straight up above the basket.  The ball contacts the wire above the backboard.  Handle the situation.

A1 runs down the lane and jumps up to get a rebound.  His momentum takes him into his own teammate A2.  A2 is being boxed out by B1.  The contact by A1 against A2 knocks B1 out of bounds.  The official rules a foul on A1.  Was the official correct?

The play described below is provided for your review and discussion. The rulings given are based on NFHS rules. NCAA rulings may be different.

An official rules a common foul on A1. Team B inbounds the ball nearest the spot of the foul, and quickly scores a basket. As the ball drops through the net, the timer sounds the horn to get the officials’ attention and the official nearest the table blows his whistle. The table reports the foul on A1 should have resulted in a 1 and 1 free throw for B1. The officials count the goal by Team B and award Team A a throw-in on the endline to resume play. Were the officials correct?
