A-1 is in the backcourt.  A-1 attempts to pass the ball to A-2 in the front court.  B-2 who is in Team A’s front court, deflects the pass up into the air.  The ball is headed out of bounds.  B-2 tries to save the ball by deflecting it back inbounds.   The ball hits A-2 in the front court and goes into the backcourt where it is recovered by A-1.  Handle the situation.

A-1 is in the backcourt.  A-1 attempts to pass the ball to A-2 in the front court.  B-2 who is in Team A’s front court, deflects the pass up into the air.  The ball is headed out of bounds.  B-2 jumps, catches the ball and tries to throw it off of A-2.  The ball hits A-2 and goes into the backcourt where it is recovered by A-1.  Handle the situation.

Team B has 8 team fouls.  A-1 is dribbling toward the basket when B-1 commits a blocking foul against A-1.  Both players wind up on the floor.  Both jump up and begin jawing at each other.  The official sounds his whistle for a double foul and the players are quickly separated.  After they have been separated, B-1 comes back and shoves A-1 into the wall.  A-1 does not retaliate.  Handle the situation.

The play described below is provided for your review and discussion. The rulings given are based on NFHS rules. NCAA rulings may be different.

B-1 commits a common foul against A-1 while A-1 is dribbling the ball.  A-1 and B-1 begin jawing at each other and a double technical foul is assessed for unsporting conduct.  Team B now has 7 team fouls showing on the scoreboard.  The coach of Team A claims that, because Team B now has 7 team fouls, A-1 should attempt bonus free throws.  Is the coach correct?

A-1 has the ball on the end line in backcourt for a throw-in.  A-1 makes a long pass to A-2 who is in the frontcourt near the division line.  The pass is a little high.  A-2 jumps and the ball deflects off A-2’s hands and goes into the backcourt.  A-1 recovers the ball in backcourt. Handle the situation.
