The play described below is provided for your review and discussion. The rulings given are based on NFHS rules. NCAA rulings may be different.

Neither team has been warned about flopping.  A-1 drives to the basket.  B-1 flops trying to draw a foul ruling from the official.  A-1 misses the layup and the ball is rebounded by B-4.

Handle the situation.


Since the faking being fouled event was by the defense, the officials should allow the play to continue until either the ball becomes dead or the defense obtains control of the ball.  In this case, the whistle should be sounded once B-4 obtained control of the ball on the rebound.

A warning should be issued to Team B for faking being fouled.  This warning should be recorded in the scorebook and the head coach of Team B should be notified about the infraction.
