The play described below is provided for your review and discussion. The rulings given are based on NFHS rules. NCAA rulings may be different.

A1 is on a breakaway when B1 catches up and clotheslines A1.  The official rules a flagrant foul.  A2 comes up to B1 and calls B1 an “f*****g asshole.”  A technical foul for unsporting conduct is ruled against A2.

Handle the situation.

By rule, this is a false double foul situation.  There is one flagrant personal foul against B1 and one technical foul against A2.  Each foul carries its own penalty.  B1 is ejected.  Under high school rules, the penalties are enforced in the order of occurrence.  A1 will be awarded two free throws with no players lined up along the lane.  Then Team B will be awarded two free throws.  The ball will be awarded to Team B at the division line opposite the table.
