A-5 jumps to attempt a short jump shot. B-5 jumps in an attempt to block the shot. B-5’s hand goes up through the ring and blocks the attempt outside the imaginary cylinder. The ball is still on its upward flight when blocked.
Handle the situation
Even though the block of the ball takes place outside the imaginary cylinder that has the ring as its base, this is still basket interference by B-5. Award Team A two points and award the ball to Team B on the end line with the right to move along the end line as after any successful goal.
